I don't need it to differentiate itself from other currency, it's a collectable in my mind. Might be something different to you, that's cool too.
"What is to stop the same sociopaths from making you give your life and your soul for a few bitcoins?" lol I guess nothing? Who cares? What's to stop them from giving you gold? It's just easier for them to give you USD since they print it ad infinitum and hand it to banks.
Nothing is stopping me, I don't care either way. Rich is fine, not rich, I'm indifferent, I have the resources I need for a while even if everything collapses tomorrow. I'm moderately indifferent, but probably because I grew up with so much, my perception is likely really skewed. They'll still be sociopaths whether or not I'm a farmer or a floor trader.
"Bitcoin is the currency of human trafficking," ok boomer. You sound like the Washington Post or the FBI.
Where's your source for that? Why would they use bitcoin? So everyone can log on to blockchain explorer and see the transactions from the comfort of home?
Serious question: you think that human trafficking JUST started in 2009? How were they paying for it before then? Were they just sending 100,000BTC transactions in the beginning when BTC was worthless and suckering any amateur with a video card into validating their transactions?
And even if it's true and it's the sole currency for human trafficking, what's the currency for all the bombs dropped all over the world? Or the kickbacks to foreign agents? Or pallets of currency to Iran in the dead of night? Or payrolls for deep state agents? Subprime mortgage bailouts? Crack deals? Nearly every criminal act involving money for the past century? It's almost entirely USD.
This is the kind of shit MSM says all the time, the FUD that crypto is only for criminal actions. They just want everyone on USD to reinforce their power. Think about it. It wasn't until BTC got to like $25k that anyone in the mainstream took it seriously, then they couldn't ignore it anymore.
Fun side note: the same asshole that always said that Trump would crash the economy were he elected still HATES Bitcoin, and I assure you, he's one of them: https://www.investopedia.com/news/what-paul-krugmans-problem-bitcoin/
Next time you want to make a shill post at least try to remember to keep your story consistent lol.
What part is inconsistent?
I'm not trying to fuck with you, I'm just saying I (me) am serious about crypto (again I'm in Eth most heavily), and most of the establishment types I know (granted they're pretty old) shit on crypto, though one did say some nice things about Trump the other day, almost choked on my drink lol.
I'm not shilling anything, USD is the Ponzi scheme. What would I be shilling for? Pumping the 2 trillion dollar crypto market on a tiny fringe site with a few thousand users? Think logically lol
You can't hold both positions that it is the saviour currency unshackling the humanity from the yokes of USD (actually oil and central banks) and at the same time maintain its only value is as a collectible, and also dismiss the importance of anonymity, unmanipulability, as these attributes are important to unshackle humanity.
You can't be passionate about how much paper money has made people sell their souls (I agree with that) and then be indifferent when pointed out that crypto can do the same thing. I am trying to point out there are two different issues here - financial control and psychological control. I am pointing out both exists with crypto as well.
USD is a ponzi scheme. I have been screaming this ever since GFC opened my eyes and everyone looks at me like I am crazy. I am happy we both agree with this. But USD we are not arguing whether USD is a better alternative to bitcoin, but rather if there are other cryptos that are better alternatives to Bitcoin.
I don't know which establishment types you are talking to, my experience is completely opposite. Everyone of them that I know are heavily invested in crypto - and this is one of the reasons my red flags got thrown up.
You keep saying MSM shits on crypto. If you are seeing MSM shitting on it, then I will guarantee you, it's part of the mockingbird program where they sometimes use reverse psychology in very sophisticated ways. I know this is working because I can see its effects on the people around me. Normies in my life are suddenly pumped up on bitcoin. One cousin was asking me how they can setup a bitcoin mining server!!!?? These are people who don't read any niche tech stuff. They just watch liberal main stream news for the most part.
You are not pumping crypto market here, you are desperately trying to convince yourself that your belief is correct, perhaps because you have let it become a tiny part of your identity. I am not saying this in any disrespectful way, but rather from my own experience where I had let a lot of media programmed issues become part of who I was, and had to disentangle myself from that.
I dont intend to change your mind. If anything I have written makes you curious enough to question your beliefs, thats great. If not, I sincerely wish you good luck with your investments.
Let me clarify: I see Bitcoin specifically as a collectible
I think I said a few times I'm heavy into Eth, don't hold much BTC because it, more than others is (this is to my mind, yours is different and that's cool) collectible.
I've been into doge (seriously) since like 2014. The coin of the people.
I really believe in blockchain/crypto as a vector to obsolete most of government. I mean that.
I hope you don't see my views on this as standoffish, at least towards you, I just see most high market cap crypto as a tool not so much against the cabal types, but as another vector to loosen their grip on power.
