Bullshit. Gandhi was a coward and an Islam apologist. He did nothing to get independence from the British. It's all propaganda pushed by the ruling party post independence who captured Gandhi's name.

The real reason was the mutiny by returning WW2 experienced soldiers who were rallied by several leaders but most credit goes to Subhash Chandra Bose.
