Twenty years ago my parents and a sister made choices that greatly affected my life and without my consent. It was one of a series of similar things over the years, though the most life-altering thing up to that point and it resulted in my decision to disengage from them, lest I discover how awful the next thing would be. I haven't spoken to them since. How do I manage? I made a new life that I love and in which I'm the happiest I've ever been. Though I was very connected to my family prior to this situation, I also have other things that interest me and that are important to me (horses and cats, to name two). I don't mean to sound harsh, but you need to create a life that is YOUR life and that isn't so dependent on what others do.
On top of that, the great awakening is at least partly about learning to be responsible for our choices and the consequences of those choices, and that includes getting an injection that may kill you. It's our job (each of us) to allow others to make their own choices, just as we want to make our own choices. It also means taking responsibility for the life you have and making it the best it can be, no matter what goes on around you.
I can relate to your family situation. I feel free not to have to worry about them doing the wrong thing. I have a wonderful husband and son to enjoy. Sometimes it gets lonely for my hubby but we are getting used to being across the country from the horrible people in our family.
