Wow! Was I in for a shock!!! I went to a really big dealer I had previously done business with. The first shock was that the normally packed to the gills lot was nearly empty. The next shock was that the very few cars there were used. This is not a used car dealer! Pretty much the only way to get a new car is that they search online for your car and order it if there is one out there of what you are looking for because the overall inventory is so low! They also said hardly no one is bringing in trade-ins anymore and they are really hurting because of that too. New car dealers everywhere are buying your used cars even without purchasing a car there!

Also our salesman who went with us on test drives was so thrilled to talk to like minded people. He is feeling so isolated and afraid to talk to anyone for fear he will say the wrong thing to the wrong person. People now more than ever need to know they are not alone in their conservative beliefs. Talk to people.
He also said the dealership is desperate for security guards. They had all of the lanes in their lot blocked by parked cars like a lot of dealers do when they are closed. There was no way to drive through and window shop like normal.
just went and got one..had to order it none available..he asked if I was trading in my old one .I told him no Ill just sell it and get the extra 2-3 G..He said dont be surprised if some dealer comes to buy it...
I've noticed this too. makes me wonder what's going on and if I should buy something now, while there are still a few available. i would like a Ford, and have heard that they were having trouble getting parts...
We haven’t decided on anything yet but every day the inventory only gets slimmer so I fear if we don’t move quickly we will be out of luck. Yes, I originally thought it was only a Ford Truck issue but it is way more serious than that. This is not talked about in the news at all. Farm equipment is in serious jeopardy also.
Lots of microprocessors supply chain is backed up and affecting production downstream of cars etc.
I’m not buying the chip/parts shortage bs. I think this is tied to GME and what the markets might do very soon. Dealerships either don’t want to be straddled with inventory that might literally go up in flames... because of potential riots or the economy tanks to a degree that no one can afford to buy a car.
I drive by a Honda dealership on my way into Los Angeles and the lot is almost completely empty of cars where it once was packed to the gills.
Oh I think it is a planned inventory shortage for the Great Reset. After all they do not want us to have cars.
Cars equal independence equals freedom equals what the USA is all about!
Definitely planned. Why does lumber and all other building materials cost double or more than at this time last year? I think it all has to do with the reset as they are trying to outprice everything for middle and low income people. That way the “state” can start owning everything....
Damn to make back in the MOASS but then not be able to spend the money on anything because total economic collapse. Irony
Same experience here.. we are looking to downsize our 2 older cars to 1 new car, and there is very limited inventory at the dealers we have been to. The Toyota dealer down the street has new cars marked WAY up over MSRP... I'm thinking of trading in both our cars right now to get top dollar, and waiting a few months to see if prices come down.
Same with trucks. Good luck with a new GMC, Chevy, Ford. Not sure about Toyota or Ram.
Oh that’s funny! I actually would never have considered purchasing a car in these crazy times but circumstances have made this a necessity. The way things are going I greatly fear we will be making payments on an ornament for our driveway.
