I think their point is that Satan has blinded these people and there are many who have gone from occult/witchcraft/addiction etc. etc. to being delivered from it and no longer engaging in the ways of their past.
The point is people can change but they often need help and guidance and most of all they need to come to Jesus.
Granted some will never repent and we can't really do much about their free will but I think it's important to remember that none of us are perfect and compared to God without Jesus standing before us as our saviour we are worse relatively than how you view yourself versus communists for example.
I don't really care one way or another about that last example, but I think in general we need to remember to exercise grace.
Good people have been deceived into turning away from God. Not all will turn back to Him, but many will. We should be ready to accept them when they do, not push them away.
The judgmental condemnations come from an arrogance, a vanity. These people presume they are better than others because they have not turned away from His light. But in holding that attitude, they actually are turning away.
I give sympathy to people who deserve it. I used to go around trying to "wake people up". Now I don't, I give food for thought and move on with my life. I don't argue and I don't debate. You know why? Because these people who I was desperately trying to help and "wake up" would just mock me, call me all kinds of names, tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. So I don't engage with them, I'm not Jesus and even if I were you underestimate just the amount of PURE RESENTMENT and HATE these people have. All they care about us "winning arguments" and "being right". There is no inner principles in these people. Their ideology is based upon doing the exact opposite of whatever we believe. Whatever we believe in, they will take the opposite stance, out of sheer hate and contempt for us. I'm of the stance that being graceful to these people for so long is what enabled them to turn around and spit in our faces.
An 8 year old is not the same threat as a fully grown maxist/communist.
Nice mental gymnastics, though.

Exactly this. Thanks, fren.

Yes sadly I think you're right.

Don't get me wrong, I can get what you're saying and sometimes that's necessary! I can relate for sure.
