True as shit story #1:
Years ago my homeschooling wife had been taking our youngest 2 to the YMCA each day for ‘open play’ in the gymnastics area where they could run and jump around on mats and trampolines etc. Over several months she had become ‘YMCA friends’ with a lady that was bringing 2 young boys there as well. One day I was in town and showed up and my wife introduced me to her friend. My wife ran off chasing one of our kids and we began talking. She said, “Hey you guys should come over to our house this weekend! You and my husband would get along so great - it would be awesome.” I asked, “Does your husband hunt or fish?” “No, she replied.” I followed with, “Is your husband a conservative - not like George Bush RINO Republican, but conservative......and surely not a Democrat?” “Whoa” she says. And “It was nice meeting you” I said as I walked over and gave my wife a kiss and said that I had to get back to work.
True as shit story #2:
I was just finishing cutting grass in my yard when I saw a man dressed in a suit coming up the road and stopping at each of my neighbors houses for several minutes. He was shaking hands and handing out some kind of brochures. With election season upcoming I was sure it was a politician of sorts, so I blew off the drive and walks and grabbed a beer. I waited for him at the end of the driveway as he departed my neighbor directly across the street. He approached me with a big hand out ready for a shake; “Hello I’m..................” I left his handshake dangling in the wind and cut him off abruptly and said, “Are you communist or conservative?” “Am I what, he asked. Did you just say communist?”
“That’s right pal that’s exactly what I said.”
“I haven’t even heard the word communist in like 30 years” he replied.
“That’s because they changed it to liberal, or progressive, or democrat back then because the word carried negative connotations” I replied.
“Wow. Have a nice day” he said and started walking away.
“So you’re a Democrat I’m guessing eh?”
MORAL of the stories!!!
Get right to the point and let people know who you are and what you stand for and you will save yourself a lot of time and headaches with wasted friendships with NPC’s.
