Jordan Peterson recently conducted an interview with a woman from North Korea. You have to listen to her story.
In short summary,
The state of humans in North Korea is hell on Earth. Cannibalism. Mass starvation. Concentration camps (approx. 200k people). Prisons in which the average life expectancy is so short that they can't count accurate figures because people die so rapidly. Mass complete and total brainwashing of the entire population in regards to Kim il Un as their Lord Emperor. Zero history knowledge (they are taught that history started when Kim il-sung was born). Zero general knowledge of the planet or other countries. No concept of individual pursuit beyond the states needs. Illegal to trade with people. 1984 and Animal Farm are understatements. The news is always positive about how well it's going.
The list goes on as long as you want until you have the clearest picture of hell on Earth you desire to imagine.
Language Concepts that we take for granted, and knowledge, are two important things that are suppressed. They don't have the following words or are able to comprehend in North Korean vocabulary:
"Oppression, freedom, free, I, love"
She said Chinese Regime is enabling the North Korean Regime. Sex slavery, human trafficking, and pedophilia are rampant in China, North Korea, and Russia. If you detain from NK you basically have to become a sex or work slave to enter China.
The most shame I ever felt on behalf of USA is when she said she had to censor herself and was disappointed at how propagandized and politically correct the Universities are. She went to Columbia U (Prestigious University in NY) for 4 years. I was a part of the problem because I didn't speak up against the Marxist propaganda that was political correctness when I went to college in my state. I sat in silence like a good little sheep.
SUMMARY: Until now, I never fully digested the disgusting truth that America is no longer as free as it once was. It will continue to sprint towards hell until it crosses the finish line. There is a frightening amount of momentum considering many millions of young adults have been brainwashed by modern USA universities. The autopsy of the USA would reveal a death by: The silence of patriots who lacked the courage to speak the truth against political correctness, Marxism, and western guilt.
My personal antidote: (Yours may be different, and that's the beauty). Speak of the magnificent achievements in humanity and prosperity of Western Culture. Speak about the wonders of freedom. Speak about the prosperity of Capitalism and the free market. Speak about the magnificence that is the United States Constitution. Be proud to be an American. Do not be afraid of your own tongue. Do not censor your beliefs. Do not be intimidated into silence. Be compassionate and loving. Speak truth as LOUD AND AS FAR AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN.

I have watched other videos featuring her, and the stories are heart-rending. You can find similar stories in Tibet and the Uigher "province." Interesting to see how that state became integrated into the PRC.
