It's depressing to think all of these old timers, past the age of 65, experienced a truly free America, where people left and right were buying their own houses, drove around in nice cars, having children, and simply enjoying prosperity and freedom, and to see that all taken away from them must be hardest on them. Then they tell their kids all of this, and show them pictures, facts, figures, and personal stories, and they act like none of it ever existed, or that it was "bad" or "wrong" to experience prosperity and freedom because some rich elite asshole told them to think this was bad, while those same elites never follow the advice they give. This is probably why probably 80% of seniors voted for Trump. He is a symbol of American power and ideals that uplifted us and much of the world, out of misery and poverty. Sorry, but universal health care, paid maternity leave, and other so called European ideals the leftists preach of, didn't uplift millions out of destitution and extreme poverty, nor did it prevent mass starvation in places like India or South America. It was actually new, innovative farming techniques (semi disruptive to the ecosystem oh no!), and a global economy driving demand even in poor areas, which saw much of the wealth get exported and allowed people to make a more comfortable living than their fathers before them did.
