What if all the need to raise wages to entice people to return to work was just chicanery to backdoor an increase in the minimum wage without actually having to legislate it....

Well, seeing how inflation is not only through the roof but in the upper stratosphere at this point, I doubt it matters.
Bare minimum, accounting for location, we all just got an average 30% pay cut due to Biden's antics.
Oil isn't just gas. Oil is plastic. Everything we own these days has plastic in it. That means the price of everything not only goes up because of transportation costs, but also manufacture costs. We got ourselves a vicious cycle forming that is gonna go bust very, very soon.
I sure as hell hope Trump gets that 10 trillion from Chyna. We are gonna need it if the QFS doesn't pan out.
The "Bolsheviks" control 80% of the Democrat Party leadership, 73% of the White House Cabinet, Hollywood and our mainstream media and our largest online platforms including Google, YouTube, Facebook and Reddit.
They can legislate whatever they like without opposition from the sheeple who are completely controlled by propaganda.
Your random thought seems like an over engineered solution to something the globohomos could do at any time.
My guess is they are saving minimum wage "reform" for either the midterms or 2024 so they can pretend that is the reason the Democrat Party gained more seats, rather than more widespread election fraud.
Chicanery notwithstanding voluntary action is more powerful and durable than compulsory action.
Increasing costs for goods seems to be coming in either case.
My thoughts exactly....
Democrats, our Big Tech overlords and Big Corps all want UBI. I believe this unemployment situation gives them an opportunity to implement and test run UBI.
Minimum wage - in reality - appears to me to be negative infinity. I picture some liberal arts students paying to jump through arbitary hoops for ever-increasing (tuition, etc.) costs as the probability of some of them ever receiving compensation for creating actual value approaches zero.
"Minimum wage" on the other hand is a bumper sticker.
Univerisal basic income sounds different and may actually be different. I would like to at least consider it in theory for a moment before I write it off as a similar clap trap.
As a thought experiment, let's assume your first sentence is factual.
Why do you think they want UBI?
Why do you think the average person thinks the average person thinks they want it?
Universal Basic Income (UBI) is supported by large companies like Twitter's Jack Dorsey: https://www.foxbusiness.com/technology/jack-dorsey-3m-mayors-ubi
The Covid Plandemic was an attack on small business as a favor to big business. What better way to destroy our country than to destroy our entrepreneurs? Small business accounts for half of employment in the USA.
UBI would keep the plebes complacent while Big Business ravages the US.
I am not claiming what you are saying is not true. I am trying to comprehend how the average person that may support this justifies to themselves why this is a worthy approach.
Obiviously the average person is not thinking, "Let's do this so Big Business can keep us complacent and ravage the US."
For me personally, UBI is akin to putting more and more oil in the car everytime you want to travel somewhere instead of addressing the cause of the oil leak. It is an admission that our current system is broken.
We already are in a situation where people are not working because they are satisfied with what they get in government benefits and stimmy. UBI would replace "some" work. Of course some people would want that.
Thanks again as you have been patient with me on a couple threads.
As you may have gathered I am skeptical of information emanating from screens as opposed to real life. For example I only know a few people IRL who would be comfortable leeching off of others, but my personal sphere is not large.
The trap seems to be that it is more difficult to convey hard truths than soft lies. Offering someone hand instead of a hand out is portrayed as being cruel in clown world.
