Are they 12v adaptable? If there's no electricity there's no fans.

I worry about all the old retired folks (like my parents) in Palm Springs suffering from heat stroke. I totally agree that losing power when it's freezing is far more difficult to survive. But old people can't handle the extreme heat of a desert as successfully as the younger crowd.
