I agree to one thing. No matter what age is settled on, if ever.. it needs to be across the board, voting, drinking, driving, property owning, military.. all of it and all of the accountabilities that go along with it. 16 imo is too young, I know I had no clue about how the world worked at 16, was still trying to figure out how to deal with things in my own lil social circle.
I do know that it has always bothered me that they allow you to go to war at 18, get charged as a adult at 18 but, not allowed to do other things at 18, like buy alc. 18 is the generic age you finish primary school, expected to go to collage or to get a job etc
