People are fundamentally lazy. It’s one of the worst flaws in humanity. Things like critical thinking, self-examination, self-reflection are too much work. It’s much easier to crack open a beer and unwind in front of the game. Bread and circuses. Entertain possibilities? Nah. Not for most people.
