A likely explanation is in Jonathan Turley’s article; basically, SCOTUS is very concerned about the threats of “stacking the court”.

"The Court is expected to issue divided opinions on upcoming cases, but it seems to be frontloading opinions that drive home the fact that most cases are not driven by such ideological divisions."

The article didn’t address cases driven by “hating Trump”… but I digress.
