Brother-in-law (Murdered 1969) Alcoholic and mental issues Vietnam War Two of my older brothers (currently alive) Mental issues from Vietnam War Uncle (USMC Gunny Sgt) Severe devastating wounds during battle of Khe Sanh died after leaving the service from unremoved shrapnel cutting into his heart. Nephew (USMC) died in Iraq during battle.
I served in the military (only daughter in my large family who did so) in the USCG, Vietnam era veteran. My swearing in oath is still in my heart! Old bones but young patriotic spirit! :o)
I love my United States and I will again serve if necessary but now, my job is to influence friends and neighbors as best I can. We fly our flag 24/7 and neighbors have suddenly also begun to fly it. One neighbor put his on a 20 foot flag pole with flood lights!!!
