Quite a few Ds voted for DJT in 2016. Salena Zito and Brad Todd wrote a book called The Great Revolt about it. They did real journalism and went to counties that had been highly for Obama the previous election and did interviews. Was a very interesting read.
I'm still registered D and I have no desire to change my party registration. The fact that I'm still registered D means my vote is less likely to get thrown in the trash.
In 2016 my registration was magically disappeared when I went to vote for Bernie but my boomer mother was still registered. They messed with the registrations for the Bernie Demographic. Once the Side of Beef was the nominee, my registration magically fixed it self.
At this point I leave it registered D but this is an open primary state so I have little motivation to do that. I like to take up their field advisors time with dumbshit questions when they call.
