I think the fact that they leaked the indictment ahead of grand jury ruling AND also leaked all the grand juror names is because they're working to get the case thrown out and then claim "trump was guilty, we totally had him, but he got off on a technicality". Desantis has done fantastic work for florida and was a pain in their side, whether you like it or not he is hands down the best governor and practically the only one that went against their COVID plans. Even Abbott was pretty awful and was just repeating anything that Desantis did first.
As for all this anti-desantis stuff, I think its trump giving into the media's attacks and constant inuendo that desantis will run. They're pitting trump against desantis so that we stop focusing on the tons and tons of RINOs that are literally destroying the party. And while I love Trump and will vote for him, a weakness of his is that he can be narcissistic so when it comes to something like him vs Desantis he goes all in.
