Most TV shows for teens encourage them to "break the rules". Adults are stupid. Kids know better. Look at Harry Potter where breaking rules puts them in mortal peril, yet they are treated at heros by the end.
It's one thing to break unjust and unfair laws, but in teen flicks the kids never make that distinction. It's just "if the rule is in my way" then you can disregard. To most of the millennials election law and voter ID is just "in the way" and something only the other side has to follow.
