You know what I'd like to see? A sci-fi movie that's the inverse of Elysium in that, yes, the arrogant and corrupt elitists blast off into space, but the sane people left behind on Earth actually clean up the mess those elitists caused and prove all the eco-loonies wrong.
What was the q post quote?
"You won't be able to walk the streets"
... I mean there are no streets in space so maybe they're trying to get ahead of it lol
Well, those guys have such amount of money, as a punishment, it could serve several interest.
First the launch. Always handy to have it paid for and be able to practice.
Second: human response to being shot out in a near earth orbit.
Third: death penalty does not take further hands on action as the body also disintegrates and incinerates.
Fourth: such a high altitude jump without a chute ..... in case they do survive the re-entry, it's a long drop and a sudden stop. A splash would be nice, then the sharks have dinner.
That information does lend credibility to the space/moon/mars base theory. Unless the idea is to send them on a one-way trip so they die cold and lonely which, if I'm being honest, seems like a fitting punishment for these people if they did what we think they were doing.
Free rocket rides
As long as it is a one-way trip, I am fine with it...

We can only hope.

Gene Decode has actually said this. Sending them on a one way trip to inescapable prisons.
