We definitely do not have the ability to perfect ourselves by ourselves. If you have interest in the depths of theology of the Christian faith, go to the book of Hebrews or Paul’s Epistles, those are great theological discussion books. A son of man and the son of man are two different people. Consider God in the garden of Eden saying that her descendant would crush Satans head and he would strike Jesus’s heel. Or in the Psalms where David speaks about my Lord said to My Lord sit though at my right hand speaking of his descendant. Jesus was truly man, the genealogy of Him, the pains he felt, but he was also God, the sacrifices slain on Jewish altars were insufficient in that they could not atone the weight of the sin, nor will God punish another creature for man’s sin. The righteous demands spoken of throughout the Old Testament and looking wt the prophet Isaiah, it is easy to see that the Christ (as we say Jesus / Jesus Christ) would fulfill the law, not replacing the law with a new one, but he fulfilled it, he followed the law from the first to the last. You and I are unable to follow the laws, and even if we could follow our perception of the law, unless we are sinless and righteous, we cannot stand before God. Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for our sins, and has granted us his righteousness through his will to adopt us as co-heirs with him. This truth stands on a very simple precept, you must accept and confess (publicly profess) that Jesus is the Lord and Savior, is your friend, is the judge of all mankind. It’s offensive to anyone refusing to believe, it is meant to be an offensive message to the hating world. But sweet will be the glory he is given, as he lifts us up to the glorious heaven. Glory be to God.
John 14:6
[6] Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.“
