Hackers put all funds into a custodial wallet. FBI probably just subpoenaed the exchange for the private keys.

Was this a FBI inside job circle jerk where they could 'subpoena' their own funds back after scaring the public? Only time will tell.
I never underestimate a persons ability to be stupid, so the hackers could very well have been dumb and trying to offboard it, but who knows.
