Online I see that it recommends 6 months between doses for horses, but that isn't as a prophylactic.
Some sources I see indicate every 30 days is appropriate for some areas in order to align treatment with the death/birth cycle of certain parasites.
Another says it stays in the horse's system for 9 hours to 11 days.
So, if we take the half-life to be the average of those times you get 5.6875 days as a half-life, which would mean 7 days as a week is safe as a prophylactic, as you will not build up too much of the medicine during that time or lead to over-dosing if it is at all possible to do so.
My logic is that if the dose every 7 days is less than the speculated half-life, your body should be able to manage.
Again, not a doctor, so my assumptions may be wrong.
Do you have the dosage schedule? I bought some but I thought I’m supposed to take it more frequently than once a week but I’m not sure.
Read all the package information, as I did.
