My Boy Scout troop leader was a salty old Marine Corpsman who was at Iwo Jima. He could smoke us all on a hike. He didn't take no shit and taught us all great skills, including shooting guns and basic first aid.

I'm really grateful I was able to learn from someone who fought WWII. He was the ultimate definition of Old School and we need that back in our lives and schools.

Those are the types of roll models we need. Sadly there aren't many left. They were the greatest generation the USA has ever produced.
