Frens - I’ve had three people very close to me say that they will get the shot because they are worried about long term effects after getting COVID. I hadn’t really heard much about this, but a quick cursory search has articles from places like CDC and WebMd and a few articles on people who are still having problems.
I may have missed discussions on this- but is this just big disinformation?
Call bullshit on them. Say there's no evidence to support that, the same way they are saying there's no evidence to support people are dying after getting the VAX.
^^This. How can anyone "know" what the long term damage from the CCP virus is, when it's "novel" since only late 2019? Show them that people pushing the long tern damage narrative are obviously fear mongering because the damn virus has not been in existence "long term."
If they are reading mainstream stories(like this one: https://www.newsday.com/news/health/coronavirus/long-haulers-covid-19-1.50268229), I need some sauce that gives a careful argument why this isn’t the case.
BS article. Your body handles it the same way it handles any other coronavirus. What are the long term effects of the common cold or seasonal flu?
I fervently agree. I’m just looking for debunk :) My telling them it is BS will do nothing.
I understand. Sometimes it's hard to get people to think for themselves. Granted this virus was designed but the only part that was changed was a tweak to change the receptor it would attach to, hence the gain of function tweak. It's still just a coronavirus like hundreds of others we live with daily. It's been estimated that there are 200 different common cold coronaviruses. You never get the same one twice which is why as you grow older you have fewer colds. If this does anything long term it's that it makes you immune to C-19 once you've gotten it.
