Whether shedding of spike is real or not; masks will do nothing to help.
Even top of the line n95 masks have a pore size that is larger than the virus. Spike is a small bit sticking out of the virus, so, much smaller than virus and much smaller than the holes in an n95 mask.

Does anyone know of a test that can be performed to detect spike proteins and perhaps measure level of contamination?
