The first lesson Wisdom gave me as a very small child was showing me the evil and demons that exists in the world....I was 3. This allowed me to see the evil in man very easily.
Free will allows us each to choose....but the persuasion of earthly gain evil uses to temp and secure souls for satan, results in a choice that damns them for eternity.
As God loves the faithful... satan hates them 10 fold....this is why the focus you speak of is on us now. Satan's time here is over, his rein on earth done, but those humans who have made their bargains with him remain....not for much longer though.
