Everyone isn't a leader, dude. That's a fact of nature as old as the species itself. For example, I couldn't lead a horse to water if we were crossing a creek. I'm the guy in Jurassic Park 2 who tries to get the jungle search party up on their feet but they just sit there ignoring him, until Vince Vaughn nonchalantly says 'OK guys let's go' and they hop right up and get moving. At least I recognize the reality and live within it.
And be thankful. If everyone were a leader, no one would follow YOU.
Great post. Funny yet with a very salient point: self-awareness is absolutely crucial although often overlooked! Knowing yourself is just as important as knowing your enemy (obv art of war 101). I would gladly take 3 self-aware teammates over 10 wannabe cowboys any day (not calling gamma a wannabe- very well could be bonafide badass ready to drive- just making the point: we are BEST when we know what we’re working with, and know how to best work WITH it)
