Maybe the “new revelations” were that his tormentors/blackmailers have either been leashed and securely in cages or eliminated outright. Doesn’t mean he’s not a spineless milquetoast, nor that he’s not responsible for his previous actions, but it’s a possibility that came to mind with this turnaround.
