I’m an old guy who is far from 100% up on tech practices. I do use different VPNs when I come here and I have always logged out when done. I did the same back in the VOAT days. This week, I have been unable to log out. When ever I come back, I am already logged in on my device’s VPN.
My son-in-law, who is more tech savvy than me, suggested that a hacker or law enforcement may have entered my device and have the ability to access other areas that can lead to identification of the user on sites like GAW.
Is anybody else experiencing the same thing?
Can a tech person explain the change to how I could log out every time, then suddenly be unable to log out?
your browser can maintain authorization depending on the domain you’re logging in and out on. If you log out on greatawakening.win, you may still be logged in on communities.win.
The chance it’s some outside actor causing this is slim to none. Just use the “incognito” or “private” browsing function of your web browser, and make sure to close all your tabs when you’re done, so the browser doesn’t maintain the session.
Thanks. I think my son-in-law was trying rattle me.
That would be my guess.
Yes this is what I do as well. Use vpn with private tab so it won’t remember login when I close out tabs. I believe private window. Won’t remember cookies either but techie person can opine on that.
If you use a private session, and FULLY close it when you’re done, and open a new private session (vpn makes no difference), unless .wins are doing something super funky and terrible, you should absolutely have to log in again.
Is it possible you didn’t fully close your browser?sorry, thought you were OP.
