Therein lies the shortcoming of their mentality. The strongest thing that binds them is their mutual hatred for anybody different. I say this having known many flagrant leftist racists. If it’s anybody who hates somebody different from them, it’s the left.

But that is what makes us stronger than them. We are driven by a mutual love of ideals, a live and let live mentality. What they don’t understand is that we can have largely the same values (at least, the ones they claim they hold) without agreements. But also that we can have disagreements without arguments.

They’re always looking at something to differentiate themselves from everybody else, and when they run out of meaningful distinctions, they block us as we try to talk. When they’ve blocked everybody else, who is left for them to hate but each other?

That’s why there’s so much infighting with them. They have this desire to be exceptional because of a low self esteem, but that same lack of self esteem pushes them to find others who, at their core, want to set themselves apart. It only lasts so long. I call it the Hipster Paradox.
