Yeah, that was him calling their bluff and how he knew it wasn't as serious as they were making it out to be. If you caught one of the times he explained that specifically, which wasn't going to make abc news, that move made sense. Most people wouldn't have caught that though. You would have to have followed his "fireside chats" he was doing at the time. He is a sold guy but if you read the oppositions talking points you'll be misslead.
