I wish I could find the article but about 5 years back I was reading a sort of confession by a long time porn star that was saying she would regularly see kids on set and those kids would often end up in other rooms to be filmed and that it was considered "normal" amongst the regulars but often turned new-comer porn stars away from the industry.
