So, I am getting married soon and here in Michigan the restrictions are GONE as of tomorrow morning. This means that my reception can be indoors at full capacity. I sent an email to my family to this effect, and IMMEDIATELY one of my cousins got on my case about how her two year old won’t wear a mask, and they don’t want him around anyone unvaccinated so she’ll have to talk to his pediatrician and blah blah blah...what the fuck. This is SICK. He’s TWO and you’re perplexed that he doesn’t want to be muzzled?! I just don’t understand this anymore. People really don’t want to let go of Covid, it’s become their identity.

That’s our plan. If you can’t be away from your kids for an evening, then don’t come. The day is about the wedding, not your kids. Byeeeee
It also makes planning the reception meals easier. You don't get, "my kid only eats chicken fingers." If there is a no-show with a family with a bunch of kids, then that's a lot more plates that go to waste. Over the years I've had a lot of relatives tell me it was the nicest wedding they had been to, all because of a no kid rule. Now I bring my kids to weddings if invited, but gladly leave them at home if not invited.
