She'll monitor the heart rate right up to the time there is no heart rate (if that happens) because that will make her feel better about herself, like she did everything possible to prevent her child's death, when in truth she caused it with the injection, but never mind that part.

These people are insane. They have no way of helping or changing a medical condition, so yes, "monitor the their heart rate" is essentially saying "watch them die"
