You think authoritarians won't take advantage of people's willingness to blindly obey? Give an inch, they take a mile. Look at abortion, gun rights, immigration, lockdowns themselves (10 days my ass...). Modern conservatives cucked constantly to where the overton window shifted drastically to the left.
