Even knowing what we know now, it was a day that changed the world forever. I’ll never forget how my mom explained it to me, holding back tears and just trying to put it in terms I understood. I hadn’t seen anything or heard what happened until she picked me up, and we got home and I saw on TV. I didn’t know it wasn’t a normal occurrence. I didn’t know the magnitude. I didn’t understand. But I do now, and will spend my life trying to fight the good fight so the people who perpetrated that horrendous act hang from the highest trees. As far as your daughter goes, some people must be shown. We can try to warn them, but until they are directly affected, they won’t understand. There’s a switch that needs to be flipped, or one instance that allows you to question one thing, then you question everything. We all went through that moment of absolute insanity within ourselves. You ask yourself everyday if you’re crazy, or if the world is. Asking that question alone is terrifying to anyone who isn’t willing, or doesn’t understand truth isn’t what you’re told, it’s what you find yourself. God speed patriot. Best of luck to you and yours. She’ll wake up, just gonna take some time. WWG1WGA
I think about you having to deal with 9/11 as a 6 year old, my daughter as a 10 year old then, my son at 11 now (and my granddaughter at 8 years old) having to deal with this shitty pandemic in the last year, it's SO unfair that your childhoods had to be marred with this kind of stuff. I was so lucky growing up in the 80s. Nothing bad like this was happening, I got to enjoy being a child. This is just so much for children to deal with.
As to my stepdaughter, unfortunately this is the direct result of the douchebag liberal asshole she has adhered herself to. Before he came along, she had some semblance of reason about her. Now you never see her without him, and he's the type to sit in your living room with his phone debunking everything you say (probably on MSN or CNN). It gets to the point that I just walk out of the room (while my husband blasts him), I get so tired of hearing his shit. I hope and pray she doesn't marry him. I don't want that to be a permanent fixture in our family. I firmly believe if she went out on her own and dumped him, she'd return to a logical way of thinking.
The things that effect us growing up, only effect us as much as we let them. My childhood was not stolen. I was given purpose at a young age. Stand up and fight for what is right in my heart, or sit down and let the world spin around me. I chose to fight. There isn’t anything I love more than the idea of freedom. No matter the cost. I may not be in the military, but you can fight for freedom as a civilian. Your stepdaughter will hopefully come around, but along with freedom, you have to understand that her boyfriend has the right to believe what he does, even if his sources are msm. The other side, that is advocating against us, just wants to watch us burn. They want nothing more than to live in a world, where they are told what to do, what to believe, and how to feel. When we fight with them, they don’t care about being right, they just want to see us get angry with them. They aren’t politically active in the sense of making change, they are politically active in the sense of no matter what we say it’s wrong, and they enjoy watching us try to prove it, and they have the media on their side. Don’t give them the time of day. Don’t give him the time of day. You know what’s right in your heart. The more we fight, get angry, get frustrated, the more they feel justified. I have stopped arguing with these people, because they are not people of reason. They have no reason, no method to their madness, other than just not being republican, conservative, American, or patriotic. Just remember, only 3% of “America” at the time supported the revolution. Yet here we are.
Well said, my Fren :) Stay safe!! The world needs level-headed people like you, especially in your generation. :)
