The best tippers and protection I ever had was the gang bangers. I made sure they got real good service and at first most were happily shocked. One guy asked me why I wasn't afraid of them and I said " I can run faster than you and you are sitting down" . Everyone listening laughed and they just enjoyed their meal. That was the table that really taught me that the way you treat people really matters. Also it didn't hurt when I made a $40 tip on that table of four 20 years ago at Denny's.
