The device "Voyager" in a Star Trek movie was monitering for whale sounds. It came hell bent for leather to Earth to see why it wasn't hearing them anymore. Perhaps the "computer" or person in the building was the "switch". If you have found the "switch", but not the files (assuming a virtual cloud), kill the switch. The files, unless lack of a periodic check of say an email acct it the trigger, then problem solved.
