Herd mentality and social pressure are a large factor in a lot of people's beliefs. That's why in Canada every other day we have a poll in the Communist Broadcasting Corporation that 70-90% of canadians support lockdowns and vaccine passports (even though if you look into the study it was only a handful of people in Ottawa)
