I believe Nike is pivoting away from a US market to a Chinese market. I think they've been working on this since 2015. In 2020 the bulk of Nike's sales are still in the US. But they are competing with companies like New Balance, and they were unable to hit their goal of 50% increase in sales from 2015. They landed at a close but no cigars 46% for ALL OF NORTH AMERICA!
On the other hand, sales in China ballooned 110%. Remember the Nike hajibs? Thats just Nike pushing into middle eastern markets. So Nike may still make most of it's sales in North America... but the trend says it may not be that way forever.
