You know what... If that wouldn't be joking then I had to say such planes have some advantage over f15 or f16 or f35. Are very slow, hunting such will be like cheetah trying to get the turtle. Hard thing - requires maneuvers...

Maybe still target for some sidewinders but I wouldn't be sure it is source of enough heat...

Very interesting point. I remember growing up with reading Biggles books (world war 1 & 2 fighter pilot stories), and I think those planes were amazing.
