Cobalt is used PRIMARILY as an alloy for strong magnetics (heating aides, high end speakers, pacemakers) or as medical implants. Very little, as in about 3% (and dropping) was used in batteries.

Most modern EV batteries use little, if any Cobalt; as Nickle is becoming more popular
