The Kristiansund area is very beautiful. I have a few friends from there, but never set foot in the town itself. You should definitely take the trip when/if you can; drive the Atlantic coastal 'highway', it's simply breathtaking and a memory for life.
Not that the States are any less beautiful. I've spent quite some time in WA and OR, and simply cannot fathom that my favorite U.S. city of Portland OR now is what it is. A few of my friends there fled town during last year's riots, not wanting to return.
These are crazy times, and Norway with it's 'social democracy', oil money and self proclaimed role as 'international peace fixer' will probably get it quite rough when shtf. Next to Saudi Arabia, Norway is the nation donating most of it's taxpayer money to the Clinton Foundation, but also to GAVI and several of the other NGOs. Media and education here is nothing short of North Korea, in it's own way, and a significant portion of the population is very docile to the authorities and their mandates.
We are a nation of hunters and fishermen, though; we will prevail: Hopefully we will able to welcome you and your family when the dust settles.
Nice 'talking' to you. Have a great day my friend ?
Thanks for your insightful post!!! Yeah I lived in WA for 4 years way back and would never return. It’s in ruins. I’ve heard about Norway and the socialism...truly breaks my heart. My Norwegian ancestors were fishermen, and am the only descendant in my family branch that has embraced that trait. I know all about my family’s history as my Great-Aunt (RIP) did immaculate research. I hope to visit. I’m really digging Norse heritage/viking music and may go see Wardruna this Autumn!! Uf Da
