They put an entire 40 story apartment block in King's Cross on lockdown with police at the entrance.
1 person in hospital, an elderly person. No one else in hospital. They count "hospital at home" as people in quarantine btw.

They also said that the genome of the delta variant was just casually sequenced in the lab in Sydney. Interesting, because they can't seem to do much else like trace it.
So yes - in time for school holidays it seems, they locked down the biggest city in Australia, in hayfever season... for hayfever or no symptoms at all, with no one in hospital, no one dying.

Every single public holiday has had mysterious cases pop up right before it, forcing some kinda restrictions to be in place - started over Xmas, through NYE, to Australia Day, then Easter and Anzac Day.
BTW - Sydney like all of Australia, being an island, had STRICT border quarantine in hotels for 2 weeks and frequent testing. Australians cannot leave Australia - their requests to leave are typically denied.

Large parts of Canada are like this also. Churches, schools, restaurants, "non-essential" shops and services closed. Many medical services cancelled. Government offices closed. Border is closed and mandatory covid jail/hotel for up to 10 days when re-entering @ $200 CAD/night. If you skip out (they can't legally hold a citizen) they hit you with a $3000 fine for violating a health order. Mask mandates everywhere. When 80% of sheep are vaccinated, things will reopen but not at full capacity. Seems the Commonwealth countries have very similar restrictions.Pure tyranny.

It is so incredibly stupid that the authorities won't even consider the use of HCQ or Ivermectin for anyone involved in hotel quarantine.
