The problem is that our medical industrial complex has made it impossible to afford health care without so-called "insurance" which in its current form IS socialized medicine. I shouldn't have to pay more for medical care because my neighbor eats McDonalds three times a day.
The biggest lie was that without this socialized medicine, you couldn't get care if you couldn't afford it... this was never the case. The Left's problem was always that the care for those who had no money wasn't as good as those who had, not that it didn't exist. But that's life. Instead of recognizing this they decided that EVERYONE should get the level of care you get from a free clinic (or likely worse), so that it's "fair." Likewise, their problem isn't that there is a "wage gap" but that SOME are NOT impoverished.
"If only everyone was equally broke, poorly educated, and sick. Then we'd ALL BE EQUAL. Except for us few that get to tell them all what to do."
So they took a cherry off of a turd sundae.

Not too much good came out of the Bush family. . . to say the least.
“health care costs onto the backs of the sicker” sounds fair
