They control the media so they are able to be sloppy. Also, they know a narrative can be established in the mind of the public and then reinforced for months before the truth is revealed via a security camera photo, if it ever even comes out. By that point the leftists are so invested in the narrative and the normies so beaten down by repetition that their egos become involved and begin to self-perpetuate and self-reinforce the lie.
