Their usual M.O. is to present a bill with provisions antithetical to the Republican mindset (think abortion on demand, open borders, federal take over of elections) sprinkled with some crumbs for the police department (or some other issue) and when the Republicans vote against it (because they have to ) the Democrats claim they are against funding the police or what ever normally Republican cause the Dems were trying to leverage to increase their overall power.
