what copyright does the superior court of california possess?
They might have a legal right on the footage since it happened in court. We’ve run into this issue a few times and it might be valid
The point is they shouldn't have copyright on something public like that. It should only be "kept private" if the victim wants it that way, otherwise, there should be no one censored in this situation. The court has too much power here that doesn't belong to them.
