Most abused word in academia. If someone disagrees with your point of view, they’ll just say that the issue is more nuanced. Fuck that. It is rarely more nuanced. People like to think they are smarter than they are and that they can rationalize their laziness while bringing down others.
One of my favorite teachers once pointed out that you should question people if they say “I can’t.” You should ask, “You can’t? Or you won’t?”
Most people just lack candor and honesty in their lives. If you’re using nuance in your daily life, you likely lack honesty.
Kek. I love how that’s their go to rationalization.
