I used to have a 6lb male toy poodle. We had to put him down last summer after he ended up with late stage congestive heart failure. He was my shadow.
My husband was sitting in a chair one day when I got into a verbal argument with him. I leaned over him as we both began arguing. My toy poodle jumped onto my husband's chest in between us and started barking and growling at him, too.
It was so damn funny we both started laughing about it. It broke up our verbal altercation. My husband said he was outnumbered. Said there were two of us against him! LOL!
My mom got a dog a year after my dad died. She is elderly and has a caregiver. When she calls out the caregiver's name for help (usually to go to the restroom) the dog wakes from a sound sleep and runs to get the caregiver. He doesn't stop barking at her until she attends. It's hilarious. I always imagine the cartoon thought bubble translating "Mi Lady needs you, Mi Lady needs you!"
