I go to QuodVerum to read the Cates brothers and Wictor, but always take their posts with a grain of salt. The brothers (especially Brian) have over-inflated egos, and Wictor is a clear Israel apologist. They have all been doing some good analysis for several years now, but there's always something just a bit off with the hard lines they set. It's gotten worse lately.
Also to your point -- Saul Montes-Bradley is a complete raving nutjob.
Wictor did post this a couple days ago though:
Devolution is not a conspiracy theory because it doesn't involve illegal actions.
If Saul bans you for talking about it, I'll leave the platform.
I appreciate how much research the Cates's and Wictor do...along with others like Rex and Dar ul Harb (who's been a long-time comment poster on Instapundit) and others. But the arrogance that some of them have in their thinking they have it all nailed down is perplexing. None of us REALLY know all of what is going on behind the scenes. We have to keep an open mind and pay attention to facts on the ground. Sometimes those change, and our analyses have to change with them. And we have to keep perspective. It's one reason I struggle sometimes with reading Sundance on CTH...the insights are excellent but he is just so damn pessimistic about it all.
But yeah...SMB. That guy is like nails on a chalkboard. The "gatekeepers" on the Right are almost as bad as the ones on the Left.
I start to wonder if the incomprehensible UI of QuodVerum is somehow responsible for these people, who I've followed for several years, becoming increasingly dick-like. Mind virus or something...
I read QV because it's where Wictor is, but I've never warmed to Saul, and the brother Cates have become increasingly argumentative rather than informative since the inauguration. Less "Here's some interesting insight" and more "Look who I found who sucks!"
Agree the UI is truly awful. I read once somewhere that the even more awful 4chan UI was done purposely that way to weed out anyone who wasn't "austist" enough to contribute in a meaningful way. I don't think this is that though.
